The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has called on the state authorities to uphold their legal and constitutional obligations and ensure the victims of enforced disappearance are given the right to a fair trial and justice.
Enforced disappearances are common in Balochistan. Various political and human rights organizations based in Balochistan estimate the number of victims of enforced disappearance to be in the thousands.
Despite repeated assurances by the ruling state authorities in Pakistan to criminalize enforced disappearance, it remains an unresolved matter, affecting thousands of families in the country.
