London, [10/12/2023] – In commemoration of Human Rights Day, the Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC) convened a momentous conference at the Sindhi Centre in London. This gathering brought together esteemed scholars and representatives from various oppressed nations in Pakistan and Iran, providing a platform for them to highlight the severe human rights abuses perpetrated by oppressive regimes in these countries.
The conference moderated by Qambar Malik Baloch of BHRC featured distinguished speakers, including Kaveh Modaresi representative of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, Nasser Boladai of Balochistan People’s Party, and prominent human rights activists such as Fariba Baloch, Ghulam Raza Hosseinbor, and Jamshaid Amiri of BHRC. These speakers shared compelling insights and firsthand accounts, shedding light on the distressing human rights situation in Iran and offering poignant narratives of the challenges faced by oppressed nations.
Further enriching the discourse were notable figures such as Dr. Khurshid Ahmed of BHRC, Sher Mohammad Bugti of Baloch Republican Party, Hatim Baloch of Paank, BNM, Faheem Ullah Wazir of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, Sardar Amjad Yousaf of UKPNP, Dr. Hidayat Bhutto of World Sindhi Congress, artist Hani Barakzai, and Burzine Waghmar of SOAS, University of London. They eloquently articulated the human rights challenges encountered by oppressed nations in Pakistan, contributing to a deeper understanding of the multifaceted issues at hand.
Samad Baloch of BHRC who presided over the discussion, emphasized the conference’s significance, stating, “The event served as a critical platform where impassioned voices converged to highlight the pressing human rights issues prevailing in Pakistan and Iran.
