London:
Balochistan continues to witness severe human rights violations, with 2023 marking a significant increase in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. According to the annual report published by the Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC), 416 individuals became victims of enforced disappearances, and 36 mutilated bodies were recovered, bearing marks of torture and bullet wounds.
Human rights organizations, including Human Rights Watch, have reported an upsurge in the number of missing persons and mutilated bodies in recent months. The BHRC has verified these figures through various sources and victims’ relatives, highlighting the alarming rise in brutality within the province.
This ongoing crisis underscores the urgent need for international attention and intervention to address and halt these gross human rights violations in Balochistan.
