The president of Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC) and one of the icons of the Baloch national struggle in Western Balochistan Dr. Habibullah Malik has passed away today.
After the take over of power in Iran by Ayatollahs, Dr. Habibullah Malik was among the prominent Baloch leaders who sought refuge in the western countries. Although suffering from prolonged debilitating illnesses, Dr. Malik was active in the social and political activities of Baloch Diaspora community in the UK since 1980s and facilitated many members of the Baloch community in various ways.
He was instrumental in the formation of Baloch Human Right Council in 2008 and became its first president. With his demise, the Baloch nation in general and the Baloch exile community in Europe in particular has lost one of the its brilliant and respected members.
His family will later announce the details of his funeral arrangements.
