WASHINGTON, DC:
The Baloch American Congress (BAC) has paid tributes to the heroic sacrifices of Baloch women for justice and equality in Balochistan. “As the world observes International Women’s Day, Baloch women deserve special respects as they have defied all odds to emerge as real heroines of their people,” Dr. Tara Chand, president of BAC, said on Monday.
“The monumental sacrifices being made by Baloch women—mothers, sisters, and wives of the victims of enforced disappearances who have been demonstrating for years on the streets of Quetta, Karachi, and Islamabad for freedom of their loved ones— has few parallels in the world today.” “Just like the rugged mountains of their homeland, France-sized Balochistan, Baloch women have proven themselves to be mountains of courage,” Dr. Tara Chand said.
He expressed dismay that the cries of Baloch women have fallen on deaf ears of Pakistan’s jihadist military, which calls the shots in the country more than seven decades after the end of British colonial rule.
