The world saw the first iPhone in 2007. With time smartphone usage has progressively become an accepted part of our daily lives. Now in 2022, we are glued to our phones. 66% of the world shows signs of nomophobia (the fear of being without your mobile phone). According to different reports, the average time spent on smartphones a day is 2 hours and 51 minutes, while an average smartphone user will click, tap or swipe the phone 2,617 times a day. When leaving their phones at home 50% of respondents feel uneasy. 69% of smartphones user check their phones immediately after waking up. 60% of 18 to 34-year-old admit to using their phones too much. 67% of teachers noticed their students being negatively distracted by mobile phones.
How can we limit the usage of phones? Make zones in the house like “no phones zone”. Where you can spend time without phones. Instead of sitting and scrolling the phone, distract yourself, change the room or go for a bath. You treat your phone as a security blanket without which you get uncomfortable in social gatherings. Face nomophobia and enjoy the pleasure of the offline world.
