Hoshab is a village with a large population in the Kech district of Makkuran, Balochistan. The village has a Government degree college, a boys’ high school, a girls’ high school and several primary schools, however, there is not a single public library in the entire village.
A library plays an important role in the advancement of society. It is a place where members of a society or people in general benefit from the opportunities of reading books, magazines and newspapers. Through these available resources in a library, people get to enhance their knowledge and learn new ideas and skills. Even people from all walks of life including teachers, doctors, engineers and those seeking employment visit libraries for books and to study. Students also visit libraries to read and prepare for their examinations or tests. Therefore, a library is essential for society.
Unfortunately, despite living in the 21st century, the residents of Hoshab are deprived of a functional library. They end up spending a large amount of money to travel to the Turbat city or move to different cities in Balochistan to either prepare for college or university admission tests, examinations and interviews. Consequently, it is requested the Deputy Commissioner of district Kech, the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the authorities in the Education department of Balochistan consider this need of the residents of Hoshab.
