QUETTA:

Global Partnership Education teachers staged a protest in front of Quetta Press Club on Wednesday in which a large number of male and female teachers participated.

The protesters held placards and banners as they chanted slogans in support of their demands.

They alleged that many male and female teachers reached Quetta from remote areas of Balochistan in the severe cold weather and have been protesting for the last three days in support of their demands but no one from the government is willing to even hear them which was regrettable.

“It was agreed that we would be made permanent employees after 5 years but nothing happened and we also have not been paid for the last seven months due to which we are suffering,” they said. “We would also protest in front of the Balochistan Assembly to get our demands met.”

On the occasion, senior teacher Khair Mohammad Shaheen, PTI’s Babar Yousafzai and others expressed solidarity with the protesting teachers and assured them that their demands would be conveyed to the relevant government authorities.

They also promised to take the prevailing issue up with provincial chief executive.
