Gwadar:
A statue of Jinnah was blown up by a remote-controlled bomb near the famous Marine Drive in Gwadar, according to BBC Urdu.
The banned Baloch insurgent organization Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) has claimed responsibility for blowing up the statue.
BRA’s spokesperson Beebagr Baloch tweeted, “Muhammad Ali Jinnah was seen with hatred in Balochistan. His statue and ideology have no place in Balochistan”.
Jinnah’s statue was erected on Marine Drive, a high-security area in Gwadar in June this year.
Earlier in 2013, Jinnah’s residence ‘Ziarat Residency’ in Ziarat was set on fire by the Baloch Liberation Army.
The Baloch insurgents see Pakistan and its security forces as occupiers in Balochistan and are fighting to liberate Balochistan and its people from Pakistan’s occupation.
