Kech:
At least two children were killed and one injured on Sunday after the Frontier Corps (FC) stationed in the Hoshab area of Kech fired a rocket at local houses.
Accounts by the family and locals suggest that the rocket fired by the Frontier Corps struck the children as they were playing outside their house. One of the children died at the scene while one of the two injured succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
Families of the children staged a sit-in protest in the district headquarter in Turbat to seek justice and stringent punishment for the FC personnel.
The Deputy Commissioner of district Kech on the other hand has come forward with an account of the incident contradicting the initially reported account by the family and the Naib Tehsildar of Hoshab.
Verifiable information by different independent human rights organizations and media outlets have time and again found the FC behind hundreds of extra-judicial killings and enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Due to a lack of accountability in Pakistan, the FC continues its criminal practices in Balochistan.
