Gwadar:
At least 2 Pakistan Navy personnel reported killed and one injured an attack on their vehicle by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Saturday in the port city of Gwadar.
The military officials in Pakistan have confirmed the attack, adding that the vehicle was carrying the members of the Navy’s “Quick Response Team”.
Balochistan’s provincial Minister, Zahoor Buledi, condemning the attack said the ambush took place at a time when the Navy personnel were traveling from Jiwani to the Ganz area in district Gwadar.
The insurgent group BLA claimed the responsibility for the attack. The BLA says it will continue to target CPEC projects and warned international investors to refrain from participating in these projects.
It further says that Pakistan’s navy is at the forefront of colonizing the coasts of Balochistan, including Gwadar, which not only seeks to bring about a large-scale demographic change by evicting the Baloch people from the coastal areas of Balochistan in collaboration with China but together, they are also building a naval base in the Baloch sea”
