London:
Renowned Baloch historian and anthropologist, Dr Naseer Dashti, has published a new book titled, “History of the Ancient Baloch”.
The book provides a detailed account of the origin of the Baloch and their history in ancient times.
The book’s summary reads that the origin of the Baloch and their history in ancient times has been lost in the dust of history. Writers belonging to the powers with which the ancient Baloch were in perpetual conflicts, produced biased and contradictory accounts about their history and sociology. This work is an attempt to produce a logical picture of a group of Indo-Iranian tribes who migrated en masse from Central Asia 3000 years ago and settled in the north-western region of Balāśagān or Balāśkān, in the Iranian Plateau. It is also an account of their sufferings and miseries in ancient times.
Dr Naseer Dashti is a writer on the culture, sociology and history of Baloch and Balochistan. He has contributed numerous articles on current affairs related to South Central Asia in general and on Balochistan and Sindh in particular. His published books include; Tears of Sindhi (2018), The Baloch Conflict with Iran and Pakistan: aspects of a national liberation struggle (2017), The Baloch and Balochistan: a historical account from the beginning to the fall of the Baloch State (2012), The Voice of Reason (2007), In a Baloch Perspective (2007). He has published the first comprehensive Balochi-English dictionary in 2019 and the English to Balochi dictionary in 2021 in collaboration with the Balochi Academy, Quetta.
The book “History of the Ancient Baloch” is available for purchase on Amazon and Trafford Publishing.
