WASHINGTON DC:
The Baloch American Congress (BAC) on Friday expressed its deep sorrow over the death of Balochistan political leader and former member of the National Assembly, Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch.
“Dr Baloch struggled for the rights of the Baloch people for six decades, first as the chairman of the revolutionary Baloch Students Organization then as one of the youngest members of the National Assembly from Balochistan. The veteran leader belonged to the vanishing breed of politicians who thought service to the teeming millions was more important than any government position,” Dr Tara Chand, president of the BAC said in a statement Friday evening.
“Dr Hayee Baloch was a simple man who believed all power should belong to the people.
He recalled that Dr Baloch was one of the first of students to face jail and torture at the hands of the Pakistani authorities but remained steadfast to his ideals until his last breath.
