KHUZDAR: The BNP President, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, has said that contacts had been made with a number of political parties forming election alliance for the next general elections.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday after completing a tour of the area, he said he would take people into confidence and inform them when such an electoral alliance is formed defending the interests of the people.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal, who is also a former Chief Minister, certain people are raising hue and cry when a No Confidence Motion is moved in the Provincial Assembly. When it comes to electing a new Leader of the House it is considered as democratic while the same members file a no confidence motion how come it become undemocratic, he posed a pertinent question.
He was referring to the no confidence motion was filed by Members from the Treasury Benches confirming that he too was part of that motion to express distrust on the Government and its performance.
Referring to CPEC, he said that the Western Route is completely missing and there is no development in any part of Balochistan. Referring to construction of roads, he said funds from the Asian Development Bank had been used in building roads.
Akhtar Mengal said that economic development is missing, there are no industrial zones or power houses and the former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif had befooled the people on the issue of Western Route.
Talking about the Baloch resistance, he said in 1970s, more was a tribal element was leading the struggle and now more politically aware people are leading the struggle. He called for an amicable solution to the Balochistan conflict by changing the behavior and attitude towards the political issue. He sought a political solution to the Balochistan conflict.
The former Chief Minister said that corruption should not be tolerated in Balochistan and those involved in corrupt practices should be punished severely.
He vowed that he would take the issue of corruption in Balochistan to the people’s court exposing the most corrupt and dishonest people in the Government.
Referring to the present Government in Balochistan, he said that the past Chief Minister completed half of his tenure and the second one is trying to complete his tenure but they failed to serve the people.
“They had plundered the public exchequer with both hands and he would make them accountable for their involvement in corruption and stealing the public wealth” the former Chief Minister told journalist.
Top BNP leaders Rauf Mengal, Lal Jan Baloch, Agha Sultan Ibrahim, Arbab Nawaz Mengal, Hyder Zaman and Abdul Nabi Baloch were also present on the occasion.
