QUETTA: Sardar Akhtar Mengal, the Balochistan National Party President, has declared that the people of Balochistan, regardless of their ethnicity and language, are the equal owners of all the resources, including the coast.
Welcoming a former Provincial Minister, Haji Ismail Gujjar, into the BNP fold, the former Chief Minister said that there is no discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, national or language among the people of Balochistan and they are united in the struggle to gain back their political and national rights. Now they would launch a united struggle to defend their collective and indivisible rights
He squarely dispelled the impression that there is division among the people of Balochistan on the basis of language and ethnicity saying that all nations residing in Balochistan are equal and united as the rulers failed to divide us on these grounds.
Mr. Mengal said that anti people elements and rulers pitched brothers against each others to advance their own petty interests. He said those tribes and national groups are residing in Balochistan for centuries and there is no difference among them. They had been living in peace for decades, he said.
The BNP President said that the people of Balochistan had faced natural disasters, specifically the man-made disaster, collectively and they all suffered without any discrimination.
He accused the vested interests of dividing the people to ethnic and linguistic grounds and for their own advantage.
The BNP President recalled an official notification issued by his father as the first democratically elected Chief Minister of Balochistan declaring that all the residents, regardless of their ethnicity and language, are Balochistanis and they will enjoy equal and non-discriminatory rights.
He deplored that the administration did not implement that official notification issued by the first-ever elected Chief Minister of Balochistan. He said that the unwarranted people had divide the people in their self interest declaring them settler or non locals.
The BNP President said that the beneficiaries are those people who played no role in creation of Pakistan and they were aloof from the struggle for Pakistan.
He disapproved the politics of slogan mongering and called upon the people to unite and defend their democratic rights.
“Every individual Balochistani is the real owner of all the resources and mineral riches of Balochistan,” the BNP President told a responsive gathering in Quetta.
Senior leaders of the party including Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini, the Party Secretary General, Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, ex-Senator Sana Baluch, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, Sajid Tareen and a score of other leaders were also present on the occasion. They all welcomed Haji Ismail Gujjar and his associates in the BNP fold.
