QUETTA: A child perished of measles in Wadh on Wednesday while other affected children of the family have been shifted to the Khuzdar in critical condition.

Measles outbreak claims 11 lives

QUETTA: At least 11 children die while more than 40 children hospitalizes in past three days following measles outbreak in Qadir Abad area of Naushki District.

Medical teams are being reached in the measles stricken District and children are being vaccinated with anti-measles vaccination.

According to District Health Officer Naushki Dr. Hameed Baloch at least 11 children have been died and dozens admitted in District Headquarter Hospital in past three days following measles outbreak in Qadirabad,

“Medical teams are reached in the measles hit areas and children are being vaccinated with anti-measles vaccine to prevent further spread of fatal disease.” Dr. Hameed Baloch added.

Asma, Gul Rehman, Saeed, Muhammad Ikhlas, Zikriya, Izzat Shah, Raziya, Asadullah, Idrees, Jalil Ahmed and Jahan Ziya were died of measles since past three days.

“We have visited the houses where children died and asked for the measles vaccination card but majority houses remained refusal for their children anti-measles vaccination.” DHO Naushki added.

He added, “people live in the area often visits neighboring Afghanistan to meet their parents and they refused all anti measles vaccination campaigns.”

DHO Naushki said, we have announced in the area to vaccinate their children with anti-measles vaccine to prevent further spread of the fatal disease.
