QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) warned of rigging upcoming NA-260 Quetta-cum-Chaghi by elections.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday at the Quetta Press Club, the BNP-M central information secretary allegedly said the Baloch and Pashtun nationalists in the coalition government were using government machinery, so that their allied candidate in NA-260 would win, adding, “We have apprised the Election Commission of it.”
“In Balochistan, political parties with ideologies and democratic norms are being pushed to the wall which does not augur well for the politics of the province,” he said. “In elections, public mandate ought to be respected. Nor ought there to be rigging at the time of by-elections.
Meanwhile, Mengal Qaumi Tehreek and Pakistan Muslim League (F) announced they would support and vote for the BNP-Mengal candidate in by-elections.
