QUETTA: Pilgrims, returning from Iran, staged a protest demonstration at Taftan, the bordering Pak-Iran town for want of sufficient security, on Sunday.
According to the details, around 200 passengers, returning from Iran after their pilgrimage to the holy places, staged a protest demonstration at Taftan for want of sufficient security. They also blocked the Quetta-Taftan National Highway and staged a protest demonstration. They chanted slogans against the administration and demanded foolproof security for their travel back to Quetta.
Long queues of vehicles crowded the highway due to the protest. However, District Deputy Commissioner arrived on the scene and held negotiation with the protestors. They were assured of maximum security all the way from Taftan to Quetta.
The protestors later dispersed peacefully.
